Post Merdeka Run

NANA,

ran with,

GOJIRA.

Monday Sept 1st. First day of fasting. Slept after an early sahur and almost overslept. Shower, prayed, and slammed through an empty Federal Highway to Ampang Jaya. 10 minutes later, gojira arrived.

Matte black. OMG. This is how a weapon of mass destruction must look. (… Read the forums half asleep the night before, I thought he got a red one ;; But this is even better) All the stage 1 goodies are in, rev limiter and the cats are out, extra CF bodykits, this monster was packed with the bomb. The standard GT-R costs 32 times what I paid for Nana. Plus the goodies this one, probably 35x. If only I could claim for my own life insurance…

Everyone KPC’ed a tad bit too long, drooling at the gojira, so we started slightly late for the run. At the early stage I was running with the usual Italians with an Elise mixed in. Gojira went up front to mix with the more experienced IA sifus alongwith an M3. Instead of the monster come chasing us, its us chasing the monster this time around.

Still not familiar with the route (its been quite a while since my last run), I opted to get behind someone to pace with, so I tagged behind the Elise and later a 147. I used to admire the Elise; was my dream car for quite a long time, until I got bitten by the serpent, hehehe. Having a GPS receiver did helped. Earlier on I was so focused on the road and the car in front, and couldn’t care less what’s on the screen. Only after a fellow member hinted what to look for (u-turns!), I started to get a hang of it and take some cues for the upcoming curves from the screen.

The Konis really made a difference in handling; was not almost-bottoming out on the corners anymore, and counter steering was faster as it rolled back much firmer. Was adviced to take out the 4 point braces, which I did. With the bumps and hard cornering, that thing would surely bend and pull everything in. Appropriate for track use, maybe, but not on our road. Not even for our city streets, with the condition they’re in.

Was a nice run. Cruised back home, trying to time my top end. zzZZ’d till evening. EX+100. (insert FF victory jingle here)

Pics and more on IA, since I was too busy drooling. Registration required for member’s only contents.
